Hold on to your (haute-couture) hats! After four years of renovation, Paris’s Palais Galliera fashion

museum is reopening. Fashion house Chanel has joined forces with the city of Paris to stump up €5.7m for the new permanent exhibition rooms and gallery, which will be called the Gabrielle Chanel Rooms. Located in the basement of the Palais Galliera, this 670sqm space will give fashionistas an insight into the history of fashion from the 18th century right up to the present day. There will also be an educational workshop and a bookshop, while the ground floor will continue to host temporary

exhibitions. The museum’s permanent collection boasts 200,000 pieces, including clothes, accessories, photographs and graphic arts. It’s enough to make you want to clear out your wardrobe…  www.palaisgalliera.paris.fr
