Properly training treble choruses to sing with maturity and refinement requires vocal and rehearsal techniques that address the unique characteristics of the female voice and the treble ensemble. Dr. Glann will share methods for successfully developing women’s choruses based on his experience conducting them at the high school and collegiate levels. Demonstration of ideas will occur through video clips and/or active participation from session attendees.

It can be overwhelming to teach one beginning string player, let alone 20, 30, or even 70! In this session we will work out time-lines for how to get your beginning strings class playing sooner by streamlining beginning bow and instrument hold instruction. We will address non-verbal cues and brainstorm ideas on how to get all instruments engaged when working on instrument-specific set-up.


3:45 – 4:45 PM String Reading Session Audrey Ortberg Green Room String Reading session for middle through high school level orchestras, giving string instructors the opportunity to play and hear pieces that may be of interest to their orchestra program.
