North Platte Guest Feature . . . State Strings Clinic The 2019 Wyoming State Strings Clinic took place at Natrona County High School in Casper on November 4 - 5, 2019. The two-day clinic included instruction by the guest conductors and culminated in a concert for the three participating orchestras.
The “C” Orchestra was directed by Leslie Fox, Orchestra director at Cheyenne Central High School. Leslie is a violist and has taught students at Sheridan College, Interlochen Arts Camp, the UW String Project, the Colorado School of Music, and the University of Wyoming Music Department. She is a graduate of the Lawrence Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s degree, and earned her master’s degree in Viola Performance from the University of Wyoming.

Danielle Johnson directed the “B” Orchestra. Danielle teaches the orchestras at Mountain Range High School in Colorado. She is an active performer, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the Front Range, and has taught for Wheaton’s pre-college program, the International School of Bangkok in Thailand, Boulder Suzuki Strings, and public schools in Omaha, NE, and Northglenn, Co. Johnson is a graduate of Wheaton College Conservatory in Wheaton, IL; and earned a master’s degree in Violin Performance/Pedagogy from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
