VII. New Business a. All State Report Gillette 2020 – Steve Schofield presented the All State Report i. Facilities will be at Thunder Basin High School.


1) Band in Gym 1, Orchestra in Gym 2, Choir in auditorium; 2) Vendors in commons area.


ii. Performance Venue – Pronghorn center (across from Thunder Basin High School). Seats 2000 people iii. Conference hotel: Holiday Inn – conference rate under the “WMEA” block. iv. WMEA Banquet – Senior Center; Student banquet – TBD.


b. All State 2021 – Confirmation invitation received from Laramie High School, ACSD1 c. Annual Survey i. Discussion of Annual Survey as covered by the Executive Committee. ii. District presidents are asked to: 1. Highlight the Breezetune in the next district meeting. 2. Encourage anyone wanting to be appointed to a chair to notify the president so that when positions become available the president can fill them quickly.


d. NAfME Collegiate Summit and Hill Day i. President presented two Wyoming Music Educators Association sponsored students for approval: Erin Dennis, selected by the committee, and Ashley Ingerle, as travel companion and also a delegate. The executive committee approved the expenses for the second delegate. It was moved and seconded to “Approve Erin Dennis and Ashley Ingerle as the WMEA delegates to the Collegiate Summit.” Approved AB


e. All State Issues i. Audition recommendations from Band, Orchestra and Choral Vice Presidents 1. Band Vice President – will edit the etudes before July 1st. Discussion regarding the edits. Discussion regarding the All-State material release date.


2. Orchestra Vice President – Discussion on apart specific rubric for harp. It was moved and seconded to “Approve the harp rubric as presented.” Approved AB


3. Choral Vice President – Issues regarding rubrics and recording sights were discussed. It was moved and seconded to “Change the language of the site handbook to ‘two adults monitors, not from the same school’.” Approved AB


4. Discussion on part checks and seating expectations.


ii. Band Etude rotation – Rotation C with revisions. iii. Host night concert report – Percussion Ensemble from Kelly Walsh High School; 2)Dallas Strings funded by Camplex. iv. Keynote speaker – Contacted Chris Woodside, if not available the IN-Ovations headliner is a possibility.


f. Internal Audit – Past President will be audit director. Audit document was signed during the Executive Committee meeting. g. Report on executive director search – Two applicants for Windsong Editor have been received, and two have expressed interest in Executive Director.


h. Festival Terminology – Discussion regarding changing the title of Spring festival. The president will research what other states are calling their spring festival.

Andrew Salzman is in his sixth year of teaching music for Carbon County School District #1, currently the Director of Bands at Rawlins High School, he previously held positions at Rawlins Middle School, and Rawlins Elementary School. He is a 2013 graduate of the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. In addition to being a member of NAfME and WMEA, Andrew is also a member of the NEA and Wyoming Educator’s Association, currently serving as President of the Carbon One Educator’s Association. He previosuly served as the WMEA Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM) Chair. Andrew is active in his community through his involvement with the Rawlins Elks Lodge #609 and their many community service activities and also serving as Esteemed Lecturing Knight.
