MARCHING BAND CHAIR - Aric Hageman

Hello everyone. I hope that your fall semesters went well, and you are ready for concert season. I would like to take a moment and congratulate all the bands that were at State Marching Band Festival this year on their great performances. It is great to see the quality of each marching band get better each year.

Bringing Music to Life. Te first thought that comes to mind is creating sounds from the black and

white notes on the page. You work tirelessly on teaching your students notes, rhythms, and fingerings in the hopes to get them to become independent musicians. Once you have taught them all of that, you work on balance and blend at the same time as teaching them how to work together and to listen to each other. Aſter hours and hours of rehearsals, you get on stage in front of family and friends with the hope to bring the music to life. To me, this process that is used for every performance is what it means to bring the music to life. Good luck on your spring semester concerts and festivals!
