Be Cancer Safe and Grow that Mo!

We might not want to think about it but cancer affects many of us, directly or indirectly, at some point in life.

The good news is that efforts

to raise awareness are going from strength to strength to improve diagnosis and survival and it’s getting easier to access help and advice closer to home.

‘‘To make it even simpler for people to chat things through, Be Cancer Safe now holds regular drop-in sessions in Rotherham Indoor Market’’

Be Cancer Safe launched in

Rotherham and Barnsley earlier this year and is helping people to get the lowdown on the signs and symptoms to look out for, available screening programmes and what to do about any concerns. To make it even simpler for

people to chat things through, Be Cancer Safe now holds regular drop-in sessions most Tuesdays and Thursdays in Rotherham Indoor Market (stall 10, next to the café) so you can pop along between 10am and 2pm and speak to one of the team. To mark Lung Cancer

Awareness month and Movember - we’ve all seen the magnificent moustaches - which focuses on men’s health and prostate and testicular cancers, they’ll be holding themed sessions on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 22nd November. Other drop-in dates and times

will be shared on the Rotherham and Barnsley Be Cancer Safe Facebook page or you can contact the team, who are based at Voluntary Action Rotherham. Telephone 01709 829821 or
