What is Carpenter Oak? When did it start and what do you do? Carpenter Oak are designers and crafters of bespoke oak framed buildings. We launched in 1987 and now have bases in Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire and Scotland. We live and breathe timber
framing - small projects mean as much to us as large projects and we love a challenge that we can get our teeth stuck into. We have in-house expertise across all building and design services and we collaborate with engineers and architects to come up with very creative solutions to what is sometimes almost impossible projects. We make everything by hand meaning that what we create is truly unique. We’re craftsmen and women who don’t use any machines in our work and that’s what sets us apart from everyone else in the industry. All of the oak we source is from sustainably managed forests (PEFC certified). The business is very much a
family. We have over 70 employees across our four locations, from project managers to frame designers and carpenters. Our
