In contrast to the popular perception that it is mostly older retirees who aspire to live by the water for health and relaxation reasons, the survey results highlight that over a quarter of under thirty five’s and over a third of thirty five to thirty nine year olds are actively looking to live near water within five years. In previous surveys people aspire to move to a waterside location at the average age of forty-three whilst the recent results demonstrated that four in ten adults wanted to move to be closer to the water before the age of thirty five. communications, young families can bring up their children near the sea whilst still maintaining their city vocations. So the rise in flexible working is also helping to facilitate the move to waterside living with 49% of employed adults working from home whilst living in waterside properties.

recent survey has found that the desire to live close to water is as strong as ever in the UK. What is more surprising is that young adults are

figures showing encouraging signs. There is the usual slowdown in activity over the Regatta period and early September as children go back to school but our diary is now filling up and we are getting ready for a busy autumn. For those potential vendors considering a move, the autumn market is one of our strongest and there is still a significant shortage of properties available. If you are thinking of moving, now is the time.
