Adrian Lake Began his wine career in Burgandy before living in the United States for 5 years where he developed a thorough knowledge and understanding of California and its wines. On returning to the UK he obtained the WSET Diploma and has also had his own wine business for over 12 years in Henley-on-Thames. He currently works for Thorman Hunt Wine Shippers.


Christine McFadden Is the author of 17 cook books, in 2010 established her successful cookery school in Dorset, class subjects include pastry, pies, pasta and baking with gluten-free flours. A qualified home economist, Christine has a fundamental understanding of the chemistry of flour, dietetics and nutrition, making her perfectly placed to author this definitive work.


Tim McLaughlin-Green Tim’s story begins in 1987 when Anton Mosimann asked him to be his wine waiter at Mosimann’s. Since then Tim has worked at Bibendum, Monte’s with Alain Ducasse and then in 1999 he set up Sommelier’s Choice - a bespoke wine merchant.


Rebecca Mitchell Local wine expert Rebecca Mitchell is a wine consultant and wine educator. She teaches WSET wine courses to amateurs and professionals. Rebecca is wine tutor at Ashburton Cookery School, writes for Devon Life Magazine and judges for various wine competitions.


Pete Murt Born and bred in Padstow Pete has worked his way up through the ranks of the Rick Stein empire and is now Head Chef at the Sandbanks Restaurant, having also worked at two Michelin starred Hibiscus Restaurants in London and travelling extensively through Central America, Asia and Australia.


Elly Owen Head Sommelier at Fifteen, Elly has been working in the restaurant trade since she was 13. She has worked as a chef in France and it was here her interest in wine was cultivated. She joined Fifteen, Cornwall in 2009.


Charlotte Pike Charlotte Pike, an award winning cookery book author, teacher and professional chef. She runs a catering company, Charlotte’s Kitchen and is also the Founder and Director of Field & Fork School social enterprise.


Hayley & Jonathan Reynolds Have recently established the South West Wine School to provide wine education across the region. This will range from the more formal wine courses to those which are relaxed and fun. Hayley has spent the last 20 years associated with the wine industry and has her WSET diploma. Jonathan shares her passion and is also WSET qualified.


Scott & Dave Forest Fungi was first established in 2013 by Scott. He developed a passion, knowledge and understanding for mushrooms and worked on perfecting his indoor growth of different varieties. In 2016, Dave came on board and together they grew the business, began experimenting and growing up to 8 species of mushrooms.


Liam Steevenson MW Wine has been part of Liam’s vocabulary for as long as he can remember. Owner and director of Steevenson Wines and Far-Flung Wines Liam has also been a buyer for Waitrose and became the youngest Master of Wine over a decade ago.


Will Lyons For more than a decade Will Lyons has written a weekly wine column, first for The Wall Street Journal now for The Sunday Times. His humorous, informed, down-to-earth writing has been recognized in both the Glenfiddich and Roederer wine writing Awards. He is also Vice President of The Sunday Times Wine Club.


Paula McIntyre MBE Is one of Northern Ireland’s leading chefs. She has enjoyed a varied career : hosting a cooking slot on Radio Ulster, being a judge on the BBC4’s Food and Farming Awards and writing for many publications including Farming Life. She is Director Northern Ireland to the Slow Food UK Board and has recently been awarded an MBE.


Enrico Messora Enrico and his business partner Ewa sell traditional Italian cheeses in Borough Market, London. After years of working with organic food in Italy Enrico decided to move to the UK to bring true Italian cuisine to the British people.


Orlando Murrin A finalist in the BBC Masterchef programme - is a popular food writer and editor, best known as the editor of BBC Good Food for six years, the launch editor of Olive magazine and the author of five cookbooks. He now divides himself between writing a monthly recipe column for BBC Good Food and writing a biography of Romanian pianist Dinu Lipatti.


Kit Noble Kit, a talented chef and hotelier until recently ran Nonsuch House in Kingswear, a luxury B&B, with his wife Penny. Kit loves the local sustainable food found in this area of Devon and still produces meals sourced almost wholly with food found within 10 miles of Kingswear.


Matt Palmer After an established career in Sales & Marketing in the City, Matt opened his own Gastro Pub & Restaurant near Royal Tunbridge Wells. He is now Catering and Marketing Manager for The Holland Group in Dartmouth overseeing the development of The Angel and Platform 1 Champagne Bar. He is passionate about promoting local seasonal produce.


Curtis Pitts Recently established in 2016, Curtis has taken on a family tradition of managing deer and then selling the end produce to local pubs and restaurants.


Kate Ryder Co-owner (with her husband Peter) of popular Café Alf Resco in Dartmouth, Kate is a champion of local produce and a passionate supporter of her local community. She also makes a mean marmalade...


Michael Smith Is Executive Chef of Porthminster Beach Café, Porthminster Kitchen and Porthgwidden Beach Café. He describes his style as modern seafood and explains “It’s all about ingredients and sourcing – it’s this search for the best seasonal produce which really brings out the best in my cooking”.


Jonathan Sutton Jonathan was born and bred in Stoke Fleming and has recently returned to Devon, after a 30 year absence, with his wife, Suzie, to run the family wine business, Michael Sutton’s Cellar, set up by his father. He has a dogged determination to make wine buying unintimidating for all.
