JP Bidart J.P. trained at the Centre Formation d’Apprentissage and his first job was as Commis Chef at award-winning Aux Armes de France, in Coreilles. He was awarded two rosettes at Buckland Touts-Saints Hotel and helped put the Millbrook Inn on the map. He now runs his own business “Le Guest Chef”.


Allister Bishop Allister is the new Executive Chef at South Sands Hotel in Devon. Lured by fresh local produce and divine country living, Allister brings with him decades of experience having worked at some of the most reputable London establishments - Harrods, Le Meridien and Hilton to name but a few.


Louis Cunningham Hughes Formerly worked for the Government as a policy and communications advisor before giving it up to become a freelance chef, food stylist, blogger on food and wine, emergency presenter and food writer. This is his 6th year working as part of the DFF Team.


Craig Davidson Considers himself an eco warrior but admits to flying when going on holiday. He despairs at the amount of plastic contaminating the environment and disappointed at how little of what is collected as waste is actually recycled. Whilst the public are increasingly aware it is unclear what the average consumer/responsible citizen can do?


Nick Evans Whilst studying for a degree in hospitality, he worked a year at a variety of Rick Stein’s businesses, and learnt a great deal about French classical cooking under Stephane Delourme at The Seafood Restaurant. Nick is now Head Chef at St. Petroc’s Bistro and is also a lecturer at the cookery school in Padstow.


Peter Grieg After a spell of sheep farming in the Yorkshire Dales, Peter and his wife, Henri, set up Pipers Farm where they exclusively breed and rear native British breeds which are 100% grass fed. Peter travelled to Europe to witness the different butchery methods employed there, returned to the farm and taught himself to butcher.


Kate Haskell Best known for working with ITV and BBC across the UK presenting live TV including weather, news, gardening and entertainment programmes, she is a well-known face in the West Country and has always lived here.


Luke Holder Born in the UK, raised partly in Dubai and having travelled around the world, Lime Wood’s Head Chef Luke has a wealth of experiences and culinary influences. He is spearheading a #chefsagainstplastic campaign to call for more people in the food and drink industry to reduce single-use plastic along the entire supply chain.


Tom Hunt Tom Hunt is an award-winning chef, food writer, food waste campaigner, author of The Natural Cook and ambassador for the Soil Association. Tom prioritises people and the environment within his work and believes in a fair global food system where our actions benefit community, biodiversity and wildlife.


Holly Jones Award winning chef and co-owner of Manna from Devon Cookery School with husband, David, trained at Leith’s School of Food & Wine. She is immensely knowledgeable and passionate about local food and enjoys nothing more than sharing that passion with other people.


Freddy Bird Executive Head Chef of the award-winning Lido restaurant in Bristol and its sister restaurants The Glassboat & Three Brothers Burgers. He will oversee the menu at the forthcoming Thames Lido due to open in Reading in Autumn 2018. He also appeared on Michel Roux Jr’s show Hidden Restaurants as a co-presenter.


Ankur Biswas Ankur, previously was Executive Chef at The Old Government House and The Farmhouse Hotel and Restaurant, both in Guernsey. He is now Head Chef at the beautiful 17th century award winning Royal Castle Hotel in the centre of Dartmouth.


The Dartmoor Shepherd Lewis and Flora are on a mission to revive our beautiful, ancient breeds of sheep and are passionate about farming flocks in an ethical and sustainable way. They are the only shepherds in the world to farm all 3 of Dartmoor’s native longwool sheep.


Naomi Devlin Naomi is a food writer, fermenter and nutritionist. She teaches courses on gluten free cookery, nutrition and gut health at River Cottage, Borough Market, Otter Farm, Ashburton Cookery School and Divertimenti.


Jim Fisher Is Head Chef, Tutor and Co-owner of Exeter Cookery School. He is a former Masterchef semi-finalist who started his career in the kitchens of Exeter’s The White Hart and has since cooked alongside the likes of Rick Stein, Alistair Little and Tony Tobin. He spent 8 years in France running cookery courses before returning to the South West.


Robin Harford Is a professional forager, ethnobotanical researcher, wild food educator and sensory botanist. He is the creator of the UK’s leading wild food site eatweeds.co.uk, and has been teaching people about their local edible landscape since 2008. His foraging courses were recently voted #1 by BBC Countryfile.


Mark Hix A celebrated chef, restaurateur and food writer, Mark is known for his original take on British gastronomy. He has opened numerous restaurants from his first Hix Oyster & Chop House in 2008 to his most recent Hixster Bankside. He has written a number of cookbooks and writes columns for Esquire and The Independent.


Shane Holland Is Executive Chairman of Slow Food in the UK, which campaigns for Good, Clean & Fair food all. Shane is also Chairman of Plan Zheroes, the platform which connects surplus food with those in need. He is a well known bon viveur and after dinner speaker, and returns to Dartmouth each year hosting various tasting events.


David Jones David is the bread guru behind the wood-fired oven at Manna From Devon Cookery School. As a passionate baker and co-owner of the acclaimed cookery school he teaches a variety of bread courses that can turn the most yeast-averse bakers into regular experts!


Nolly Kawamura Nolly has loved to cook from as early as she can remember. She has written columns and articles for Japanese magazines and publications. The inspiration for her project, The Miso Tree, came from a trip to the South Hams, where she encountered the fabulous local produce.
