Youghal Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps Children Delighted with Special Guests

As Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps got underway around the country over the Summer, over 200 children gathered at Youghal GAA last week starting Monday 23 July to participate in their local camp.
The camp is a great social event to keep children active and entertained for a week during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games. Activities are also organised in an age-appropriate manner with a view to Optimise learning, Enhance Friend- ships and to improve Physical and Psycho- logical Well-being. On Wednesday the children at Youghal Camp were in luck when they had a visit from Cork Ladies
Player Rena Buckley a true ambassador of Gaelic Games, with an outstand- ing 18 All-Ireland Medals and 11 All- Star Titles, the advice and tips from Rena was much appreciated by the players on the day and will be advantageous to the players. Rena wasn’t the only visitor during the week and on Friday morning the young players had an important visit from the Youghal R.N.L.I who are in partnership with Youghal G.A.A in an aim to deliver the FLOAT Message as part of the National Drowning Prevention Campaign – Respect the Water. Youghal R.N.L.I Volun- teers Kevin Daly , Karen Walsh and Rhonda Burke spoke to the young players on the morning and is urging anyone who finds themselves in trouble in cold water to follow the FLOAT message.
