On Sunday 29 July, the Youghal4All committee held a BBQ at the well- known Mall Beach in Youghal, as part of their fundraising efforts for the Moby Dick Sculpture. The rain disappeared and the sun came out just in time and it turned out to be a great family fun-filled afternoon, with delicious food cooked by the committee themselves, sweets and treats shop for the children looked after by young Alex O’ Brien, Music by Dj Ger and his son, all while enjoying fun and games on the beach. Since launching their fundraising campaign


in March of this year Youghal4All have raised nearly €20,000. The total cost of the project will be appropriately €35,000. Following a tendering process earlier this year Matthew Thompson was awarded the contract for the project. Work is expected to commence shortly and the Sculpture, which will be made from Kilkenny Limestone, will take 5 months to complete. The Moby Dick Sculpture will be in place prior to the Ironman Competition in Youghal next year. Youghal4All would like to thank everyone for a very enjoyable afternoon, and hope they will continue their valuable support.
