Fascinating history will be yours to unravel every step of the way during four weeks of immersive exploration in India, Arabia and the Mediterranean. You’ll have the chance to visit legendary sites aplenty, from Mahatma Gandhi’s birthplace and the holy cities of Jerusalem and Bethlehem, to the Lost City of Petra and the inspirational Taj Mahal, two of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. On board, there’s a transit of the Suez Canal to savour, too.

Petra Musandam Fjords

Mumbai

Before your exploration of India, you can visit Colombo and its temples, mosques, museums and bazaars. Two relaxing days on board Boudicca follow, sailing by the Maldives’ picturesque Northern Atoll. Staying overnight in Kochi, you’ll have chance to view the famous Chinese fishing nets, the British Commonwealth’s oldest synagogue, and more. The iconic Taj Mahal, a Wonder of the Modern World, is within reach on an overland tour (returning to Mormugao).

Another overnight stay, this time in Goa, is a treat to savour. Mormugao is your gateway to Old Goa and the UNESCO-listed Latin Quarter, which highlight India’s European heritage. Two immersive days in Mumbai meanwhile present an enthralling mix of old and modern India. From admiring the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj railway station to visiting the Dhobi Ghat laundry to spotting busy Dabbawallas delivering lunches, a plethora of diverse experiences await. After this comes Porbandar, birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Be sure to visit Kirti Mandir – Gandhi’s childhood home – and the Sudama Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, during your stay.

Taj Mahal

Next you’ll have a day to discover Dubai – home to iconic sites including the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa – then it’s on to Oman, where three cities will showcase the country’s stunning diversity. A call at Khasab offers you the chance to take in the spectacular Musandam Fjords aboard a traditional Dhow boat. Many treasures reveal themselves in Muscat, including the glorious Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Qasr Al Alam Palace. Salalah is your gateway to the remarkable Al Baleed Archaeological Park.

Boudicca will divert to Jordan next, where you’ll be afforded the unmissable opportunity to tour to the astonishing Lost City of Petra – one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World – from Aqaba and unearth huge tombs, archways and temples that were carved into the sandstone over 2,000 years ago. Whether you explore Petra by day, or at sunset, you’re in for an incredible experience. A cruise along the impressive Suez Canal will be memorable too, en route to Israel. Your final port of call, Ashdod, is ideally located for trips to the holy sites of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
