Africa & the Indian Ocean Islands
Join this longer voyage and you’ll experience four weeks of pure indulgence, with a perfect combination of incredible wildlife, blissful beaches and tropical cultures. South Africa kicks things off, with iconic highlights at every turn, before Boudicca launches into the ultimate island-hopping adventure, taking in idyllic archipelagos galore. Mayotte, Madagascar, the Seychelles and the Maldives are joined on the menu by a rare visit to the Andaman Islands.
Madagascar Colombo
Phang Nga Bay
Joining Boudicca in Cape Town you’ll have the following day to explore. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to highlights, from the scenery at Cape Point and the alluring Winelands region to the stunning Table Mountain National Park. From Port Elizabeth, you can seek out the ‘Big Five’ at a choice of game reserves, or view elephants from a 4x4 at Addo Elephant Park. A pause at Richards Bay offers more wildlife adventures, particularly at nearby Lake St Lucia within the protected iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
A day in Mamoudzou is yours to spend as you wish: the charming streets are well worth exploring, while further afield is one of the world’s largest enclosed coral lagoons. After this comes a chance to seek out the fascinating endemic wildlife of Madagascar, such as lemurs and chameleons. You’ll find Hell-Ville ideally placed for tours to Lokobe National Park and Nosy Komba, as well as Nosy Be’s tropical rainforests.
Boudicca will arrive at the Seychelles next, for calls into Victoria and Praslin Island. During an extended stay in the archipelago’s capital, you may choose to
relax indulgently among the white-sand beaches or perhaps venture to Moyenne Island to encounter the famous giant land tortoises. Praslin’s paradise setting is your gateway to the tropical forest of Vallée de Mai, home to huge Coco de Mer nuts and rare black parrots. Some of the best beaches are within reach too: the likes of Anse Lazio and those found on La Digue Island are sure to sweep you off your feet.
Some relaxing time at sea precedes a visit to the Maldives. Vibrant Malé is a fascinating destination to uncover, while unforgettable tours are available to the tropical resort of Kuda Bandos. Colombo is your gateway to the astonishing Kelaniya Buddhist Temple – one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred sites – after which Boudicca will sail on to the Andaman Islands. The Mahatma Gandhi National Marine Park is well worth discovering here for its coral reefs and exotic marine fauna. Neighbouring islands feature some of the continent’s best beaches. All this before reaching Phuket, your final destination and start point for a thrilling speedboat ride to Phang Nga Bay, home of iconic ‘James Bond Island’. The spectacular scenery has to be seen to be believed.
