Braemar will be waiting for you in Bridgetown, where you’ll have time to sample Barbadian life before setting sail. Perhaps you’ll visit the Mount Gay rum distillery, admire the Georgian-style architecture, or simply enjoy the sunshine at one of the nearby beaches. Then it’s on to Tobago, for Scarborough – your gateway to the uninhabited island of Little Tobago, and the rejuvenating Nylon Pool – before stops at two of the ‘ABC’ islands bring a Dutch flavour to your exploration.
You’ll visit Bonaire, where you can go in search of native flamingos and visit the island’s vast salt flats from Kralendijk; followed by the beautiful island of Aruba, where the colourful waterside architecture of Oranjestad and the unique Casibari Rocks await.
A relaxing day will be spent at sea as Braemar heads for the ‘Spice Island’, Grenada. You’re in for a rewarding stay in St George’s, where tempting scents of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla fill the air, and attractions such as the Molinière Bay underwater sculpture park are within reach.
Next on this enticing menu is St Lucia, the first of five spectacular destinations to discover in five consecutive days. Here the soaring twin Pitons, bubbling Soufrière Volcano and Diamond Botanical Gardens are among a wealth of astonishing natural wonders; while Antigua is famed for historical highlights such as Nelson’s Dockyard, along with 365 beaches – one for each day of the year, if you ask the locals. Some time on St Kitts presents the chance to ride on one of the world’s greatest scenic railways and witness unspoilt scenes of sugarcane fields, dense forests and spectacular coastline.
On St Maarten, you could opt to explore the 17th century battlements of Fort Willem and Fort Amsterdam during a call into Philipsburg, or join a thrilling catamaran tour and head out onto the Caribbean Sea.
A full day docked in Road Town affords you time uncover Tortola’s fascinating pirate history on a scenic boat tour, followed by an exhilarating open- top safari bus adventure, before you finally disembark in the Dominican Republic.
