Oceania & the Far East
Exploring a string of Indonesian islands – with Singapore and Thailand thrown in for good measure – is sure to invigorate and inspire you, before Boudicca heads over to Australia to bring the most iconic sights and highlights closer to you. You can experience temples, rice terraces and Komodo dragons, complemented by the Great Barrier Reef, native kangaroos and koalas, and New Year’s Eve celebrations in Sydney.

From Phuket, the start point for an exhilarating speedboat ride to Phang Nga Bay, you’ll head to Weh Island for a first glimpse of Indonesia. Weh’s lush interior is ripe for exploration by boat, though you may opt to simply unwind or snorkel the warm clear waters. Boudicca will then divert to discover the soaring skyscrapers of vibrant Singapore. During an overnight stay you’ll have time to marvel at the Gardens by the Bay, enjoy High Tea at Raffles Hotel, and more.
Semarang will welcome you back to Indonesia. Not to be missed is Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist temple. Volcanic scenery awaits at Lombok Island; during a day in Lembar you could uncover the crater lakes and hot springs of Gunung Rinjani. After a chance to see Komodo dragons in their natural habitat on Komodo Island, you’ll head to Bali for a two-night stay. The remarkable rice terraces and ancient temples are just some of the many attractions here.
Exploration of Australia begins in the resort town of Broome, before Boudicca heads to Fremantle for tours to sunny Perth. From Albany you can follow
Lombok
in the footsteps of the first European settlers with visits to the replica of Brig Amity, the Albany Gaol and Patrick Taylor Cottage. Then there’s Kangaroo Island – where you may spot wild kangaroos, wallabies and koalas – and two days in the ‘World’s Most Liveable City’, Melbourne. Here you can take time to admire the diverse street art; explore the Royal Botanic Gardens; or embark on a breathtaking journey along the Great Ocean Road.
After a call at Hobart, arriving into Sydney on New Year’s Eve offers the chance to experience the legendary festive celebrations, including spectacular midnight fireworks. There’ll be time to climb the Harbour Bridge, visit the iconic Opera House, and relax at Bondi Beach too. In Brisbane a boat tour along the Brisbane River is a great way to see the sights. Within reach is Australia Zoo, made famous by the exploits of Steve Irwin. Boudicca will then take you on a scenic cruise of the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef en route to Townsville, which is well placed for tours to Magnetic Island, home to a colony of wild koalas. To round it off there’s Cairns, gateway to the historic Daintree Rainforest.
