From marvelling at modern architectural wonders, including the world’s tallest building, to haggling at traditional souks, and from a desert dune drive to a belly dance performance; our knowledgeable, local guides will ensure you get to experience the real highlights, both in and around the city.


Guests who have booked this extension in addition to the fly-cruise package on cruise W1902 will depart from Heathrow on an overnight flight to Dubai. Our local representative will greet you at Dubai International Airport and direct you to your coach transfer to the Radisson Blu Deira Creek Hotel. Guests who have booked this extension in addition to the cruise-only package on cruise W1902 will need to arrange their own flight and transfer.


Day 1 Check in at the Radisson Blu Deira Creek Hotel. The remainder of the day has been left free of scheduled activities so you can relax and settle into your room.


Day 2 Setting off early, your morning tour begins with a scenic drive past Dubai’s modern architectural sights – from the deluxe sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel and the reclaimed, palm tree-shaped islands of Palm Jumeirah to the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Then it’s onto Dubai’s Old Quarter and the historic Al Fahidi Fort, which houses the Dubai Museum. Hopping on an Abra (water taxi), you’ll cross the creek and head to the spice and gold souks. A renowned landmark of Dubai, the gold souk is the place to grab a bargain on a range of dazzling jewellery. You’ll return to your hotel where


70 the remainder of your day will be at leisure.


Day 3 The majority of the day is free for you to enjoy as you please. At mid-afternoon you’ll be picked up from your hotel in a 4WD land cruiser, ready for your Safari Tour. Sit back and enjoy the scenery as it changes from skyscrapers to desolate sandscapes, and experience a thrilling dune drive. Upon reaching the desert campsite, there will be opportunities to try sand boarding, take a camel ride and have a go at a henna design on your hands or feet.


As part of this cultural discovery you’ll enjoy a traditional folk dance performance, called Tanoura. The colourful skirts are utterly entrancing as the dancers whirl around before you. There’ll be a delicious barbecue dinner to feast your appetite, along with shisha (the famous Arabic water pipe), before your magical evening concludes with a belly dance performance by starlight.


Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast you’ll depart your hotel for Black Watch. Once on board, you’ll be able to enjoy lunch and settle into your room ready for your voyage to the UK via Oman, Jordan and the Mediterranean.
