Seven Cork students were amongst the talented young sports stars awarded sports scholarships by Institute of Technology Carlow this week. The sports scholarship programme at Institute of Technology Carlow is now in its 18th


year and offers a support


package and/or bursaries to students of outstanding sporting ability. The scholarships provide financial and academic support, mentoring, injury rehabilitation, strength and conditioning support, high performance coaching and access to the Institute’s renowned sports facilities. The number of scholarships offered to students - 90 this year - has more than doubled since the programme was introduced in 1999, reflecting IT Carlow’s


renown as one of the leading third-level sporting institutions in the Ireland and a modern hub for sporting excellence with a growing academic portfolio of sports programmes. The programme’s elite scholarship strand recognises the Institute’s very best athletes
