ELECTRICITY MARKET DEVELOPEMENT

scientists behind the research have highlighted that effective policies must be put in place.

“While individuals will clearly need to take action to transition their homes and lives, it will take more than individual consumers to drive forwards a low carbon economy. More countries need to prioritise the increase of clean energy capacity as we transition to a resilient and efficient low carbon energy system.

“The report clearly shows the immense benefits governments and industry

will gain and why both must seize the opportunity to create a new mix – one where energy storage and renewable energy take centre stage.”

ENERGY STORAGE The world’s largest lithium ion battery has begun dispensing power into an electricity grid in South Australia. The 100-megawatt battery, built by Tesla, was officially activated recently. South Australia has been crippled by electricity problems in recent times.

South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill

stated: “This is history in the making. The battery will prevent a repeat of a notorious incident last year where the entire state lost power!”

These are just a few of the many reports and comments received recently and the number and range of subject areas are increasing on a daily basis.
