The Ports are well connected with Den Helder as well as other Dutch ports and offshore areas and they have active member organisations throughout the Netherlands and Europe. Based on independent research on the innovation readiness with partner Techport, they are extensively involved with a variety of organisations in the wider field for offshore innovation. One project focuses on O&M which is a joint industry project for 100% predictive maintenance. The process and outcome will provide excellent input to offshore wind.

East Of England Energy Group

Bordering on the East of England between Great Yarmouth and Amsterdam area, with the shortest distances by plane as well as sea, offshore member organisations with similar interests in offshore wind, can profit from in-depth information on the neighboring markets and provide easy access to mutual networks. This will start during Offshore Wind Energy 2017, London in June

Wind Europe Ports Platform

Within Wind Europe a special commission will be launched, also at the London

WindEurope event. The Ports Platform is a cooperation between Hull, Groningen, Oostende, Den Helder, La Rochelle and Amsterdam and is aimed at the support of full scale offshore wind developments and the roles they can take.

EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE

To keep up with future growth, a specialisation was recently launched for onshore and offshore wind. The vocational education is based on the all-round technical operator four year programme. With partners Falck and Quercus it includes offshore and safety certification as well as high voltage training. Business partners within MyTec can influence the curriculum to achieve the coherence between theory and practice.

IN CONCLUSION

With experience in offshore wind that can be relied on, the combined strengths of a creative metropolitan area and the ‘hands on mentality’ of the offshore industry, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports is a dynamic networking organisation that

THE PROCESS AND OUTCOME WILL PROVIDE EXCELLENT INPUT TO OFFSHORE WIND

connects over 75 organisations in the North Sea Canal area, turning their shared ambition and knowledge into inspiring and smart offshore energy solutions.
