RECOGNISING POTENTIAL

Offshore Painting Services (OPS), an ISO accredited company offering a range of services to the renewable energy sector in particular and the construction industry in general, first recognised the east coast of England as a potential growth area, both in terms of offshore activity and business development, back in 2012

After securing premises on Port of Grimsby East the new offices were opened in 2014, in close proximity to several of its potential customers, such as Dong, MHI Vestas, Centrica, Eon and Siemens. From the Grimsby office, the company is able to provide a diverse service offering to its clients, including complete corrosion protective solutions and repair services, specialising in high specification coatings and rope-access blade repairs along with further rope-access solutions within facilities management.

PART OF A LARGER ORGANISATION

The Grimsby office is part of the bigger organisation, based in north Liverpool, from where additional services are provided, including IRATA, GWO, Train the Painter and ICATS accredited training courses in the new state-of-the-art training centre. OPS was founded by brothers Dave and Paul Jones in 2010,

recognising an opportunity to offer bespoke corrosion protective solutions to offshore assets; the company has since grown to include rope-access blade inspections and repairs along with rope-access facilities management to a range of both on- and offshore assets.

LOCAL FOCUS

Paul commented: “I believe in the area, there is a passion about what I see. There is opportunity here and people get it; I have never seen it like this anywhere else. We want to give young people and those from different industries opportunities; we have always taken local people on.”

The company prides itself on being built upon foundations based on an ethos of excellence, with each member of the team making their individual contribution where customer service and delivery are paramount in all that we do, supported by a commitment to technician training and development. With offices in both Liverpool and Grimsby OPS are able to quickly mobilise our team of specialist technicians onto projects throughout the UK and beyond.
