Summer bucket list

A great British summer barbecue

Why not kick off your summer with a traditional barbecue.

It’s the perfect opportunity to get

family and friends together whilst enjoying some delicious food and summer time drinks… here at Park Leisure we’d definitely recommend making some Pimm’s! So pop your apron on and scrub up on your cooking skills as BBQ season is well and truly on us!

Watch out!

Watching movies doesn’t just have to be just for winter. With the evolution of ‘outdoor cinemas’ dotted around the country, you can watch your favourite films as the beautiful summer sunshine sets. Simply take some snacks, grab yourself a beanbag or blanket and kick back and relax. Keep a lookout on your local tourist websites for more information about what movies are playing near you!

Give your time

As you know, we are so excited that each park will be getting involved in a charity event on- park this summer and whatever your park is doing it is such a great opportunity to get involved in. Not only will you have fun with other owners, but you can also raise some money for Walking With The Wounded, Park Leisure’s 2016 charity of the year.

Keep cool

Everyone’s favourite summertime snack is back, and yes there’s no denying that the tune of the ice-cream van is very exciting, however have you ever thought of trying it out for yourself? In support of National Ice Cream Day, we’ve given you some great ice lolly recipes so you can create your own. Take a look on page 36.

Have a picnic

There’s nothing more relaxing than spending a lazy summer afternoon with friends and family sat on the grass with a blanket and some nibbles, either watching the kids play or simply watching the world go by. If you have a favourite picnic spot, please let us know where so we can share this with other owners.

Become the king of the castle

Pack your bucket and spades and take a trip to your nearest coastline for some sun, sea and sand. It’s a great way to keep the kids entertainment by asking who can make the biggest and best sandcastle. Help them collect shells to decorate it, grab a spade yourself to help with the moat and then finish it off with a flag on the top – ta-dah!

Try something new

Why not make this summer all about trying something new? We think that a water sport could be just the thing! Not only will it keep you and your family active but it’s the perfect opportunity to check out all the sea life that surrounds you too! Our favourite activities in the water for you to try could include snorkelling for those who love relaxing, kayaking for the adventurers amongst us, or white water rafting for the thrill seekers!

Take a moment out of your day

Because all our parks are situated in stunning locations, whether that’s in the countryside, near the coast, or next to mountains, its not hard to find somewhere peaceful only moments away from your holiday home, and now with the longer evenings and lighter mornings here, it really does allow for some magical sunsets and sunrises. Ask the team for more information about where the best place to go is near you!

Get that festival feeling

Take a look at your what’s on page to find out if there is a festival happening near you! From the best in local cheese festivals,

to countryside

walking festivals to exhilarating music festivals, there really summer.

is something for everyone this

Get your summertime glow With the great British weather so variable, make sure you take time to get out and soak up the rays in the sun whether you decide to go on a walk or simply relax with your favourite book on your deck. It’s proven that vitamin D is needed for us to stay healthy and we get most of ours from absorbing the sunlight…

please just remember to put your sun cream on!

So there you go, your very own bucket list for this summer! We’d love to see how you got on and would be thrilled for you to send your photos in of anything on the list! We hope you have a great summer.
