Rural Cornwall There are many rural events happening
throughout Cornwall at this time of year including the Stithians Show, Cambourne Show, Liskeard Show and many more. Every year we get great feedback from owners telling us how fun they had. These events include farming and livestock, steam fairs, flower shows, rural crafts, forestry and blacksmiths and cooking demonstrations.
Out and about on the farm Why not have fun at one of our local farms?
Better still why not visit a local farm with an extra attraction. Callistic Farm is right here on our doorstep, it has a small enclosure of animals including pigs, cows, goats, chickens and turkeys it is ideal for young children and has an on-site ice cream shop serving up the best ice cream in the county. You could always pop next door to Healy’s Cider Farm for a tour around the farm, a 'cheeky half' or a cream tea.
Local Feature Our top picks for you!

Local walks and wildlife What better place to enjoy a beautiful walk than
right here on the fabulous Cornish coast. There are miles and miles of clifftop walks to view the amazing coastline scenery, or you could head inland and enjoy one of Cornwall’s woods. All within about 30 minutes drive are Lanhydrock, Cardinham, Idless and Tehidy Woods which we get great reviews about.
Hidden Ruins Just over the way at Penhale sands near
Perranporth are the 6th-century remains of St Piran’s Oratory which is reported to be Cornwall’s oldest site of Christian worship. St Piran came over from Ireland and spent most of his life in Perranporth. Engulfed by sand in the Middle Ages, the remains of the oratory were first discovered in the late 18th Century. Each year, St Piran’s story is retold in a drama on the dunes near the oratory on the Sunday nearest to 5 March. Why not visit the old church remains at St Piran’s Oratory or try to discover another of Cornwall’s ancient ruins.
