the 1000 Mile CLUB
Park Leisure
We,re getting in gear to raise
£100,000
We are delighted to announce that this year’s annual charity challenge by some of the directors, Gary Molloy, Miles Dewhurst, James Gourlay and Olly Gardner will be taking place this August. They will embark on their hardest cycle challenge yet, making their way from Cornwall all the way to Northumberland cycling to each Park Leisure park over a 11 day period, covering 1000 miles! That’s 126 miles further than riding between John o’ Groats to Land’s End, and 4 times further than the London to Paris bike challenge.
This is where you come in! When the directors reach the parks, they are extremely excited to join in your park charity challenge if it falls on the same day, whether that’s climbing Snowdon at Plas Coch, or joining in a family fun day, it’s your chance to meet the directors and get them involved in your park challenge.
Take a look below at what’s happening at your park;
Oyster Bay & Par Sands will host an Owner Zip Wire challenge on Saturday 6th August at The Eden Project. Plus there will also be a static rowing challenge that will mimic the length of the English Channel, of 21 miles!
Malvern View will host a 10 mile walk in the Malvern Hills on Saturday 6th August, followed by a tug of war and ‘Dunk the Manager’. The day will finish with a barbecue back at the park.
On Sunday 7th August Brynteg and Plas Coch will host a trek up Mount Snowdon where the directors will join starting at 11.00am. This will be followed by a barbecue and party back at Plas Coch, for both Plas Coch and Brynteg owners.
Ribble Valley will host a trek up and over Pendle Hill on Saturday 13th August starting at 12.30pm. Followed by a 5-a-side football tournament.
Littondale on the 20th August, owners will be able take part in their own challenge with a hike to Kettlewell.
Chantry & Yorkshire Dales hosted a walk around Penn Hill on Saturday 16th July. The Directors will take on their challenge on Wednesday 10th August.
