HUMBER RENEWABLES

HUMBER’S RENEWABLES EXCELLENCE SHOWCASED AT INDUSTRY AWARDS

Companies working throughout the on and offshore wind supply chains have been recognised at the second Humber Renewables Awards.

Training, innovation and business know- how were rewarded at the event, staged in Hull. The evening began with a video address from Energy Minister John Hayes.

PRAISE FOR THE AREA He praised the Humber region for embracing sustainable power, saying it could lead to hundreds of jobs and a technology revolution.

Mr Hayes said: “Renewables already help to deliver energy security and green growth. Across the UK, renewable technologies could create up to 150,000 jobs across the country.

“I’m pleased to note many of those jobs and a significant amount of investment are in your area.”

It is the second time the awards event has been held, with the aim of highlighting the work already going on in the fast-paced sector, which is increasingly a feature of the Humber’s economy.

Humber-based marketing company Footprint Renewables organised the event and the headline sponsor was communications provider KC Business.
