Mike Foster


After graduating he qualified as a lawyer and worked for GKN plc in law and corporate finance, before moving to trafalgar House and Kvaerner where he was responsible for the Kvaerner Engineering and Construction Division.


During his tenure as an executive with Charter International plc, the company’s turnover trebled and the profitability increased more than 500% in the period up to 2008.


BRINGING A WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE Alex Dawson, Chief Executive of tAG Energy Solutions, said: “Mike brings a wealth of operational and board-level experience, which will be a huge asset to TAG Energy Solutions. EXPERIENCED ENGINEERING PROFESSIONAL MIKE FOSTER BECOMES TAGS NEW CHAIRMAN He was, until 2011, Chief Executive officer of FtSE 250 company, Charter International plc where he had been on the board since 2000, initially as a Non- Executive Director, before becoming CEo in 2006.


Mike has been the Chairman of listed companies in India and South Africa, and is now active in a range of Non-Executive roles and industrial early stage companies.


A University of Cambridge graduate in Engineering and Electrical Sciences, a solicitor and a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, Mike has an extensive background in engineering management.


“In particular, the offshore renewables sector has the potential to be very successful for companies such as TAG, which offer effective supply chain solutions. As activities in the sector gain momentum the opportunities for UK suppliers should grow considerably creating a positive future for our industry.”


WORKING TOGETHER WITH PRINCIPLE POWER (EUROPE) LTD


The company is working alongside international renewable energy technology developer principle power (Europe) Ltd, who is developing innovative floating support structures for offshore wind turbines.


WINDFLOAT SYSTEM AWARD principle power Ltd has been awarded £689,630 from the Department of Energy and Climate Change to advance the development of its innovative WindFloat System for the use in the UK market.


tAG Energy Solutions will provide engineering and manufacturing support for the project, which will identify and accelerate the suitability of the UK offshore wind supply chain to construct and deploy UK-specific WindFloat systems.
