NCOE

Newcastle Chambers of Engineering (NCoE) was set up nearly ten years ago and have taken some of their inspiration from Mertz & McLellan, with a modern day approach. For example, providing engineering project development associated with power and energy systems. They also provide a modern day service of safety and risk reduction services to increase reliability and reduce capital spending.

THE FUTURE

tom Kellacher from NCoE says “We based our business model on the way a team of barristers operate their chambers as a structured partnership. This gives our clients the advantage of knowing that although we are a team of engineers with a wealth of experience, we are all working to the same set of standards and our clients can expect consistency from each member of NCOE.”

THE TEAM the team at NCoE comprises of a group of registered chartered engineering professionals. It has a core competence of project engineering and safety management with a broad collective experience in the on-and-offshore energy, oil & gas and petro-chemicals sectors. NCoE is now looking to play a key part in the wind and renewable sector taking energy from field to grid.

HELPFUL ENGINEERING ARTICLES over the past Year NCoE has been supplying the Wind Energy Network magazine with engineering articles covering important aspects to drive the quality and professionalism of the offshore renewable industry forward.

BASED IN NEWCASTLE NCoE is ideally situated to provide services to the growing renewable sector not only in the North East of England, but also to a national and international market.

tom Kellacher, a founding member of NCoE, has a longstanding history of working on Tyneside. His early career started with parsons and Clarke Chapman’s and then developed further into providing a service to energy suppliers, and their subcontract suppliers, which he has new been doing for over 30 years.

Tom says: “With the historic background to engineering that exists in Newcastle, this gives us the perfect platform and location to be amongst the diverse supply chain that export internationally and give us the leading edge.”

“Our aim is to grow larger in Tyneside and with the excellent universities who supply top engineering graduates and innovative research we couldn’t be placed in a better position.”

“Looking ahead, Newcastle upon Tyne has a bright future, because here in the region we will continue to provide an international service of engineering and design. Renewable energy has also had recent investments onto research and development. This puts Newcastle at the forefront of the next phase of engineering developments. And, as NCOE grows we will continue to provide a modern and up to date approach to engineering services.”
