The Agilent X-Series represents an evolutionary approach to signal analysis that spans instruments, measurements and software. Agilent’s X-Series signal analyzers include the high-end PXA, mid- range MXA, economy-class EXA, and low-cost CXA, and offer more than 22 industry-leading measurement applications. Agilent’s new options to the X-Series signal analyzers will be available for order in November. Prices for the options start as follows:


Option UNY’s low-noise performance enables engineers to characterize and evaluate high- performance devices and receivers to levels previously unattainable. For example, a 1-GHz carrier frequency at 10 kHz offset provides -142 dBc/Hz specified (-146 typical) absolute SSB phase noise. With the industry’s best pedestal phase noise, engineers can more accurately characterize the adjacent channel performance of receivers. The best close-in phase noise provides improved sensitivity for better measurement of high- performance radar systems.


The new Option UNY also features selectable phase noise settings for best close-in (less than 150 kHz) or far-from-carrier (greater than 150 kHz) phase noise. This flexibility allows engineers to optimize the phase noise performance for their specific application.

The new option is claimed to offer the lowest close-in and pedestal phase noise available on the market today. The PSG family of RF and microwave signal generators delivers the high-quality test signals, power and performance engineers demand. This is true whether performing functional and parametric tests on advanced RF and microwave radio systems, analyzing the components that comprise them, or simply substituting a continuous-wave signal for a local oscillator. The PSG family features the world’s first integrated vector signal generator up to 44 GHz, first analog signal generator up to 67 GHz (operational to 70 GHz), and the first microwave analog signal generator to break the one-watt output power barrier (Option 521 operates from 10 MHz to 20 GHz).
