WIN Semiconductors Appoints Yu-Chi Wang as CEO
In his new position, he will also be acting as General Manager of, and be in charge of the daily operation of the MMIC Business Unit.
WIN Semiconductors has announced the promotion of Yu-Chi Wang to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
YC has been the General Manager of MMIC Business Unit of WIN Semiconductors since 2007. While he led the MMIC Business Unit, he drove the revenue growth and new process development to meet the company’s business plan in the GaAs foundry service business segment. Previously, he also held the positions of Director (2003) and Associate Vice President of Technology Development Division (2004) at WIN.
He joined WIN Semiconductors as Section Manager of HBT Product Development Department in 1999. Prior to that, he worked at the Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Murray Hill, NJ, where he was a member of Technical Staff, involved in the compound semiconductor device design and process development for wireless and fiber-optic ICs. He received his bachelor degree in physics from the National Central University, Chung-Li, Taiwan in 1989, and his Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1998.
In his new position, he will also be acting as General Manager of, and be in charge of the daily operation of MMIC Business Unit. The appointment will become effective as of November 1, 2010.
Strategy Analytics Welcomes Eric Higham to Strategic Technologies Practice
Appointed as Director to the Gas & Compound Semiconductor Service division, Higham has led design, business development and marketing efforts in a variety of semiconductor based components and processes.
The Strategic Technologies Practice of Strategy Analytics has announced the addition of Eric Higham as Director to its GaAs & Compound Semiconductor Service (GaAs).
This service focuses on demand from the whole spectrum of end-user applications for GaAs and other compound semiconductor devices. Eric Higham will be working alongside industry expert Asif Anwar in providing analysis and thought leadership in compound semiconductor markets.
Higham has a diverse background in semiconductor based components and processes. In his career he has led design, business development and marketing efforts for a variety of active and passive components used in commercial and military wireless communications, broadband, fiber optic and cable television market applications at a number of companies, including Raytheon and M/A- COM. Prior to joining Strategy Analytics, Higham had been consulting in the communications industry as the founder and president of Spectrum Business Development.
Higham’s extensive semiconductor industry and market background further enhances the Strategy Analytics highly experienced Strategic Technologies team at a time when technology and market developments are evolving rapidly and becoming more dynamic.
