The Sarnia Solar Project will be expanded from 20 megawatts (MW) of capacity to 80 MW making it what the two firms say is the largest operating photovoltaic facility in the world.

To celebrate this milestone, Enbridge will hold a Grand Opening celebration in Sarnia, Ontario. Enbridge and First Solar representatives along with the Ontario Energy Minister, Hon. Brad Duguid, will be on-hand after the formalities to speak with the media.

Dow Corning has unveiled plans for a $13 million investment in a Solar Energy Exploration & Development Center (SEED) at its European headquarters in Seneffe, Belgium. This investment expands the company’s ability to innovate with a broad range of European customers using its silicon-based materials while also enhancing the company’s European-based solar energy research and development capabilities.
