HISTORIC MARIPOSA & SEASIDE MONTEREY Heading out towards the Pacific coast, visit the Mariposa Museum & History Center to learn all about the indigenous Miwuk Indians and the Chinese immigrants who came to California in the late 1850s to make their fortune. Then it’s on to the stunning Monterey Peninsula, on the coast, where the renowned 17-Mile Drive takes you to Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove, Asilomar, and Del Monte Forest with photo stops along the way. Check out the pristine beaches, tide pools, and, quite possibly, seals and sea lions. Meals BL
7. THE LIFE AQUATIC IN MONTEREY Today’s adventure at Monterey Bay starts with a choice of kayaking,* bicycling* or a self-guided walking tour of Old Monterey. Then enjoy free time to explore Monterey on your own, followed by a private behind-the-scenes tour of the acclaimed Monterey Bay Aquarium. Its ocean treasures include more than 10,000 live animals – octopuses, jellyfish, sea turtles, penguins, barracuda, sharks...
