STRAITS OF MACKINAC / MACKINAC ISLAND A scenic drive along the lake to the Straits of Mackinac takes you back in time, beginning with your visit to Petoskey, where lunch is served in a century-old inn overlooking Little Traverse Bay. It continues at the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, which guided mariners navigating the strategic – and treacherous – straits.
