compressors, standard Optyma and packaged condensing units (Optyma Plus, Optyma Plus Inverter), valves, heat exchangers and the various system components for higher reliability.
For smaller capacity applications and bottle coolers, semi plug-ins using charge below 150gr, Danfoss has an extending portfolio compatible with different hydrocarbons and CO 2.
The favoured refrigerants R134a and R410A for air conditionin g will be subject to quotas or bans. Window units, split systems are gradually shifting away from using R410A toward R32, whereas higher capacity VRF systems move into high-density A2L refrigerants. For even bigger systems such as scroll chillers and rooftop units, a similar
transformation to A2L refrigerants like R32 occurs.
HFO blends such as R452B and R454B and propane also come into play depending on the heating/cooling application. Samples of the extensive Danfoss portfolio for the new refrigerants are now available.
In the high-capacity area, centrifugal and
screw chillers using R134a are transitioning to HFOs and blends.
After pioneering with R1234ze, oil-free Turbocor TG compressors, Danfoss offers
more system components, including sensors and switches, heat exchangers, filter driers and sight glasses and that are also tested and approved for oil-free systems.

Coolselector and Application Centers support transition
D
comes with a low-GWP tool a anfoss Coolselector is the key
component and refrigerant.
“We have updated all our assets to support OEMs and installers in selection and retrofit when switching to new refrigerants. This is a significant step in our effort to bring climate- fr iendly, safe and affordable solutions to the market,” says Torben Funder-Kristensen, head of public affairs, Danfoss Cooling.
Furthermore, Danfoss Application Development Centers across the world offer expert support and state-of-the-art test facilities in a collaborative environment to support our customers during their transition to alternative refrigerants.
