C

ool Projects, the family owned and operated business, is celebrating its 20th

anniversary.

The company was established in 1996 and is now a national business working across the country for household names including Boots, the Co-op and Poundland. Building its reputation to become a well-known and well respected company in the air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation industry, the firm currently employs 28 staff. Founder and managing director Adam Dyne said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating our 20th anniversary and have achieved this milestone through hard work and dedication to our customers. When I first set up the business we only had myself and my wife Chris and now we have a team of engineers on the road, visiting customers every day.

He continued: “Even though the technology in our industry has advanced hugely, the most significant factor in our success has been delivering maximum customer

satisfaction. This was a goal we set ourselves on day one and is just as important, two decades later. For us, whether you are a home worker who wants their garden office to be comfortable all year round, a restaurant which needs to keep their diners at the right temperature or a retail brand with thousands of shops, we provide a reliable, resourceful and respectful team of air conditioning engineers for your business.” The Cool Projects team recently held a conference followed by a party for its staff, engineers and key customers to celebrate its anniversary.

Salisbury Group, the FM specialist, has been selected by PageGroup to provide a range of services, from maintenance and engineering through to compliance, for their 30 UK and Ireland sites. The worldwide recruitment company, which trades under the brands of Michael Page, Page Personnel and Page Executive, have decided to consolidate several maintenance contracts to Salisbury Group to streamline their costs and

services requirements.

“We are delighted to have been appointed by PageGroup to provide their facilities management. PageGroup’s commitment to the professional success of its clients, candidates and employees, closely matches our own ethos that underscores our belief that there is a far better way to deliver effective FM services. Also, with their offices stretching from Aberdeen to Southampton, Dublin to Cambridge, we are proud to prove we can support and deliver local services with a national footprint.” Said Andrew Lunt, Salisbury’s Managing Director, Operations

Chris Spratt, Director of Property and Facilities for UK, North America and RoW at PageGroup, said: ‘We wanted a supplier that treats us as a customer, not just an account number. A partner that places emphasis on making a personal connection with us to find out, and to meet, our requirements. Salisbury Group have impressed us with their commitment. ”

A system to keep football fans and players cool at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, which was co-designed by engineers from the University of Sheffield, has been officially unveiled at the newly renovated Khalifa stadium.

Although the competition has been moved from the summer to November and December, the average temperature during this time ranges between 25 - 29°C.

Dr Ben Hughes’s team from Sheffield’s Energy 2050 institute worked with colleagues from Qatar University to design the system which cools the outside air and pushes it through to the pitch, stands and concourse areas.

This district cooling technology is more sustainable and environmentally-friendly than air conditioning systems and uses recovered heat in a mixed mode to deliver a stable, comfortable indoor environment. The 40,000 seat Khalifa Stadium was first opened in 1976 but has undergone extensive renovations for the World Cup.
