Chiller rental accelerates expansion
Aggreko technology supports business expansion at Chemoxy with temporary cooling package

hemical manufacturer Chemoxy accelerated a new business project at its Teesside custom processing plant by renting a temporary process cooling package from Aggreko.
Chemoxy needed additional cooling capacity to successfully develop a new production process with a major client. Rather than halting the project while a permanent solution was found, Chemoxy approached Aggreko to design and deliver a temporary alternative.
Aggreko carried out a site survey and found that the cooling demands of the process were not enough to warrant a rental cooling tower. Instead, a more cost effective recommendation was made for an interim chiller and supporting power package.
The 600kW chiller was speedily installed, using hoses to connect directly into Chemoxy’s process cooling system and powered by an Aggreko generator. Once the temporary cooling system was installed and fully tested, production development trials began, preventing any interruption to the project schedule and allowing Chemoxy to fully meet their client’s needs on time and in full.
Over the three month project duration, Aggreko’s local service engineers 44 June 2017
visited the site regularly to ensure continuous, uninterrupted power and cooling. Aggreko also managed the generator refuelling and servicing to enable Chemoxy’s team to focus on a permanent cooling solution. Once the site’s new permanent chiller plant was installed, Aggreko removed its chilling equipment, but the generator was retained to provide supplementary power to the new plant until extra power capacity could be secured from the electricity network.
Stephen Larke, senior development manager for Chemoxy, said: “Aggreko found a quick and relatively simple solution to our process cooling challenge.
