Matt joined the award-winning national chimney sweep franchise in the summer of 2016.
He said: “Once upon a time I spent my days working and commuting in the centre of London, so the joy I get from bringing our friendly and professional service to an area as beautiful as South Hams is hard to beat!
“My daily commute usually involves M

Matt launched his business from his home near Ivybridge, and says local residents have welcomed him with open arms. Wilkins offers many sweeping services beyond the obvious chimney clean for
open fi res, Rayburns, Agas and wood- burning stoves – it fi ts bird guards and provides items such as carbon monoxide alarms and stove thermometers. Matt found the ladder work challenging at fi rst but has formed a great alliance with a local man already and they do the roof work together. Wilkins Chimney Sweep was founded in 1895 in Newbury. It was franchised in 2011 and is owned by husband-and-wife team Peter and Louise Harris. It currently has 14 franchise territories operating across the UK from Worthing to Whitley Bay and is looking for franchisees to expand the business in many areas across the country. The company has won numerous
awards in recent years, including the bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year 2016 Microbusiness category, which was awarded to franchisee Richard Bryan in Whitley Bay.
