PRODUCT Choice ATC "lets loose its creativity"!
ATC, who have specialised in indoor and outdoor signage, vehicle wrapping and point-of-sale for over 20 years, needed a "dependable" solution to power its fleet of printers and cutters. With Caldera, it has gained not only work flow stability, but also faster turnaround, says the company.
ATC's (Autorise Toute Créativité) 68 em- ployees generate an annual turnover of €12 million from four production facilities in Lyon, Paris, Annecy and Rennes, and occupy 3,000sq m of floor space. The company has positioned itself as one of the leading wide- format digital print houses in France.
Their vehicle wrapping activities include doing the publicity caravans for the Tour de France, and they have a dedicated in-house team of skilled fitters. ATC is also known for using micro-perforated adhesive films for window and building graphics, as well as large-format tarpaulins, such as at the Stade de France arena.
To manage these diverse projects, the company has invested in a wide range of equipment such as eight roll-to-roll print- ers, and two flat-bed printers with solvent, eco-solvent, UV-curable, and dye-sublima- tion ink technologies; plus three flat-bed cut- ting machines. This broad plant list is driven exclusively by Caldera's GrandRIP+ solution, augmented with GrandCut and EasyMedia options for cutting and colour management.
Digital workflow manager Pierre Gaimard, said: "We had major problems RIPing very large files. Either it could not be done or the computational speed was excessively long.
“There was a shortage of options in the tiling modules, and it was difficult to manage all our cutting systems due to compatibility is- sues with older systems."

by Caldera, such as tiling and VisualCut. The optimised, powerful tiling module has proved to be "simple to use and delivered significant productivity gains". While Visual- Cut improved the efficiency and flexibility of the print-and-cut work flow with automati- cally generated cut marks and cut files, says ATC.
Pierre said: "We have far fewer problems with print file interpretation, processing time and file size limitations. Caldera is a great tool for managing spot colours and print pro- files."
ATC has four production facilities with a range of machinery and equipment, all powered by software from Caldera. 36 Sign Update ISSUE 167 NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016
