New films from APA

APA recently launched its latest wrapping film, “Carbon Racing” (CW/RR7-HX), to apply on flat and contoured surfaces. According to the company, this new product is a high-performing cast film, with a black gloss carbon effect. It features a dedicated formula that gives it scratch protection, and facilitates the cleaning process.

Another new product is “Roof”

(CW/K97-HX), a black, self-adhesive extra- gloss cast film. This, says APA, offers a good degree of resistance against abrasion

and enhanced outdoor performance; ideal for surfaces that require a particular type of shine.

The new films expand the high quality, wrapping films range offered by APA, which also includes “Ultra Matt Blue” (CW/86.0- HX) and “Jaguar” (CW/RC87X). Both are described as user-friendly, thanks to their in- novative, channelled, repositionable Re- poTack Air Free System. And their special formula that provides a "high covering power, conformability and mechanical re- sistance".

Their new products also include the CW/R00-FX, a gloss, white cast film; print- able with solvent, eco-solvent, UV and latex inks.

The new "Carbon Racing" high performing cast film from APA. Vertical panel saws impress at show

Sagetech launched their re-engineered ZM panel saws at the recent Woodworking Ma- chinery Show. They reported a positive re- sponse, which they says is due to to its "attractive pricing and the enhanced preci- sion from this updated model". With wood- workers seeking much higher accuracy levels than those normally required in the signmaking industry, the machine’s per- formance is set to be particularly attractive to signmakers, says the company.

The new units have laser cut edges at their core to achieve higher accuracy, with enhanced bearing systems to give smoother running and high precision. The new version also has a significantly strengthened frame, better stops, improved material supports, and better positional locking systems.

The ZM range is available in two sizes; the ZM12 (cutting capacity 2500 x 1250 mm) and the ZM16 (cutting capacity 3100 x 1600mm). For those wanting to cut the larger 3M x 2M sheets, the company offers its Koolkut range, models KF21 and KK21.

The ZM is just one of the four ranges of ma- chines offered by British manufacturer Sagetech, who specialise in vertical panel saws for the smaller business. The Zapkut brand is for lighter duties, starting with the unique ZK8 portable, which when not in use can be folded up compactly and stored con- veniently. The Zapkut ZM range is also suit- able for cutting sign making materials, but

will handle small quantities of MDF or chip- board. The Koolkut brand is for those need- ing a heavier duty machine, where the KF and KK Koolkut units offer capacities up to 3.1 x 2.1M.
