15. SUCCESS IN SUPPORTING EXPORTS

Glasgow Chamber’s team that deals with export documentation has had an extremely successful year. Chamber certification staff have been

handling increasing numbers of documentation packages for our members and other customers. Tey issued more than 12,000 export

documents ranging from European Community

Certificates of Origin, Arab-British Certificates of Origin, ATA Carnets, Applications for Import Licences plus HMRC documents: EUR1 and ATR movement certificates. Chamber staff have also helped in updating

customers from manual to digital certification via a new online system called Tradecert, which has received some great feedback from customers. Te department workload volume has

grown so much that we have also employed a new colleague who successfully passed his exams in October.

Glasgow Chamber’s senior management

team has reviewed this year of performance with its key advisers and staff team and has developed a plan for further growth in 2016 and the subsequent two years of the new three-year Business Plan period. Stuart Patrick, Chief Executive of Glasgow

Chamber, said: “2015 has been a year of achievement for Glasgow Chamber and we are determined to build on that this year for the benefit of our members, the wider community and the city economy.”
