You can compete like a big brand…
Hello, I’d like to introduce you to The Brand Factor and tell you a little bit about what we do. Clients usually come to us to: • Turbocharge their performance in the market
• Revitalise their brand • Crystallise their vision • Spend their marketing budget more eff ectively
Big or small, most businesses would like to spend more on marketing, but at The Brand Factor we specialise in helping take a business to the next level, despite spend constraints. We do this by: • Identifying a truth about the client’s business that a) people will be prepared to pay more for and b) will grow penetration • Communicating
persuasively
• Embedding messages and behaviours internally
Staff , service, product, environment, communications – all are levers of your competitive advantage, and success today is an ensemble act. We help bring the brand experience fully alive using all the touchpoints.
What makes The Brand Factor so good at what we do? If we had to mention one thing it would be the area of human
understanding: how to persuade people to change their behaviour so that the business achieves its objectives; and how to inspire people – inside and outside the organisation – so that they want to help make success happen.
In addition we have decades of experience of unravelling problems and spotting opportunities for clients in most sectors and at diff erent stages. From research to new product development, from brand positioning to brand audit,
we have advised household names such as Hilton, Guinness, Unilever, Muller Wiseman Dairies, Highland Spring, Arran Aromatics, and Taylor Wimpey.

The bustling Scottish waterways
As the custodians of the nation’s inland waterways Scottish Canals manages the Forth & Clyde, Union, Monkland, Crinan and Caledonian canals which extend over 137 miles from coast to coast, across country and into the
cites of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness.
Built over 200 years ago, Scotland’s canals were once transport arteries that stoked the fi res of the Industrial Revolution. Today they are bustling green and blue corridors which are home to creative studios and cafés rather than coal scows and warehouses.
Attracting 22 million visits per year from walkers, cyclists, boaters, paddlers, anglers and runners, these
historic assets continue to bring vibrancy and positive change to the communities along their banks; contributing signifi cantly to Scotland’s wider economic, social and environmental prosperity.
As a wholly owned public body, Scottish Canals works with partners in the public, private and third sectors to stimulate sustainable economic development, regeneration and tourism, as well as contributing to
education, biodiversity, heritage and the promotion of active living and healthier lifestyles.
Our achievements in these areas can be seen along the Forth & Clyde Canal which cuts through Glasgow. We are playing a key role in regenerating the north of the city, with innovative projects including The Whisky Bond, 100 Boron Street business park and Pinkston Watersports Centre being just a few of our recent successes.
In September 2016, we will host the World Canals Conference which will bring hundreds of businesses and specialists from around the globe to Inverness to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing inland waterways. The four-day event will also allow us to showcase the work which we and our partners do, to a worldwide audience of key decision makers.
We’d like to hear from you about how your business could benefi t from working with Scottish Canals and our network of global contacts in the engineering, architectural, tourism, energy and environmental sectors.
