The University of Glasgow and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have worked with industry partners to develop industry-driven infrastructure to provide a focus for innovation and industry collaboration at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The unique strengths of this collaboration have also led to Innovate UK’s recent decision to locate the Scottish Centre of Excellence of the UK Catapult for Precision Medicine in Glasgow. It is already clear from the signifi cant levels of industry engagement, that the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital has already become a major new locus of life sciences innovation products and service development that will deliver signifi cant economic impact for Glasgow and ultimately benefi t the health and wellbeing of all Glasgow’s citizens.
