Celebrating the ‘Impact of Diversity’ on the Meetings & Convention Industry
October12, 2015 Philadelphia,PA - PHLDiversity, a division of the Philadelphia Convention andVisitors Bureau hosted its 2015 Annual Luncheon at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and celebrated “The Impact of Diversity.” Beyond the 65,000 hospitality jobs and thousands of small businesses supported by Philadelphia’s diverse meetings and con- ventions, the impact was evidenced by the explosive success, both cultur- al and economic, of the inclusive business leaders in attendance.
Industry and community leaders were commended for their continued impact on the diverse hospitality and tourism
industry.The Community Recognition Award was given to Dr. Stephen S.Tang, President and CEO of uCity Square; the Industry Appreciation Award, given to Jay H. Shah, CEO of Hersha HospitalityTrust and the Bring it Home Award given to Mayor Michael
A.Nutter, Congressman Bob Brady, and Former Governor Ed Rendell for their efforts in bringing the 2016 Democratic National Convention to Philadelphia.
