The Web as a Resource
The VFTCB website,
valleyforge.org, is the gateway to a successful group visit. The extensive calendar of events lets visitors know what’s happening when, where, why and how. The online information presents details on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis, guid- ing guests through the various cultures, traditions and celebrations that make up the patchwork quilt of Montgomery County.
Further, the board’s bi-weekly blog, The Pursuit, pres- ents the story behind the event. The blog’s award-win- ning travel writer delves into the distinct personalities of the county, offering humorous and often touching pro- files.
The entries, however, are no mere travelogue; he rou- tinely engages in events and experiences, writing first- hand. Past adventures include ziplining through a zoo, performing in a night of stand-up comedy, kayaking with the governor of Pennsylvania, scaring teens at a Halloween haunted house, painting a van Gogh with his daughter and even sitting for a one-on-one with Santa.
