these market sectors and the conference center is already exceeding our expecta- tions. Construction was an enormously positive project not just for us,but for the whole region.”
Harrah’s Atlantic City Waterfront Confer- ence Center will host the MPI World Educa-tion Congress next year. Planners chose the new facility because it offers meeting, dining and sleeping accommo- dations all under one roof.
Harrah’s Atlantic City is now among the premier meeting destinations along the East Coast. The MPI event is expected to draw more than 2,000 attendees.
Many of these guests will look at Atlantic City for their own futuremeetings - a huge plus for this rapidly growing resort town.
Meetings also are an essential part of the fabric of Resorts Casino Hotel, managed by Mohegan Sun, which just cut the rib- bon on its own $5 million conference center that has 12,000-square feet ofmeet- ing space, including 12 conference rooms. In all, the property now offers more than 64,000-square feet of function space.
“We are the only organization in Atlantic City to offer an all-inclusivemeeting pack- age,” says Mark Sachais, vice president of hotel operations for Resorts AC. “It includes three meals daily, morning and afternoon breaks, meeting space with audio-visual, Wi-Fi, parking, all gratuities and taxes.”
Planners appreciate Resorts’ advanced technology and the flexibility of its new conference center. “Meeting attendees
can walk into the center with a laptop and never have to plug into anything,” points out Sachais. “And,there is an on site tech team available to support every meeting.”
The design of the new conference space reflects the building’s original detailing and molding profiles and blends with tra- ditional patterns and materials of today. Features include:mobile partitions,mod- ular lounge areas,pre-function snack and coffee spots and more.
“Since the conference center opened, Resorts anticipates 10,000 room nights above and beyond the 22,000 we usually book for meeting groups,” announces Sachais. “We already have 12,000 room nights booked for 2017. It’s a very robust market and Resorts Casino Hotel is ready.”
