WATER TESTING
The eXact iDip® App when used with the
handheld eXact iDip® Smart Photometer
allows testing for over 35 pool water quality parameters
THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTING AND HACH’S SOLUTIONS
Regular testing of water chemistry in a pool or spa can help maintain a healthy and attractive aquatic environment. First of all, a proper level of sanitiser, such as chlorine or bromine, helps to protect bathers from potentially harmful microorganisms. Water that is out of balance can cause burning eyes and irritated skin and can potentially lead to a serious illness. Pool and spa water should be tested frequently to ensure that it will be fun and comfortable for everyone.
Having the correct water balance can also save you money by protecting your pool or spa equipment. If pool water is corrosive, it may cause etching and pitting of concrete and plaster-lined pools, and may cause the vinyl liner to wrinkle. Corrosive or acidic water can also damage the heater, pump and filter, leading to hundreds of pounds in costs for unnecessary repairs. If water is over- saturated with mineral content, it will deposit excess minerals on the pool and equipment in the form of scale. AquaChek®
is a leading brand of
Each PrimeLab photometer is supplied preloaded with essential parameters for the pool and spa user – free chlorine/bromine, total chlorine/bromine, calcium hardness, pH, alkalinity and cyanuric acid.
The full version of PrimeLab 1.0 Multitest can be expanded for a multitude of tests for the professional user.
The expandability of the PrimeLab ensures that even after the device has been purchased, the user can activate more and new parameters to meet the needs of water testing requirements. Due to wireless Bluetooth®
technology of
the PrimeLab as well as free PC software and App with free Cloud service; reports and dosage recommendations can be defined by the user and even connected to GPS coordinates by just a click on a map. Doing so, you can always keep track of test results, related to user defined accounts. “If, for instance, your engineers are maintaining the pool, you can programme the PrimeLab with the jobs that they need to visit during the week, then download the data to the central database when they return to base. It could not be easier! Each PrimeLab can be given a customer’s pool. This also allows you to offer advice on the chemical condition of the pool and helps you to sell more chemicals,” said Steve Cooper of Pool- i.d. UK, adding: “The PrimeLab is the most sophisticated photometer in its class and can assist on a regime of accurate control and measurement of any type of water. The PrimeLab is able to measure any colorimetric test method from Aluminium to Zinc with the use of reagents (mainly tablets but powders or liquids can be used if the customer

prefers). It’s very different from the current products that use several LEDs at specific wavelength or interference filters and then use ‘transmission or absorption’ to get the result.”
