Award Winning Underwater Technology
At the recent Seawork International Expo, hosted in Southampton Docks for members of all of the marine and shipping industries, Fairlocks had a stand in the Diving & Underwater section of the exhibition. Now you may think that’s an unusual show for the company to attend, however the product being showcased was the Nemo underwater drill which is ideal for the shipping industries as it can go to depths of 50m and has buttons to re-pressurise to ensure the larger depths are reached safely. As demonstrated at the show, the divers took the cordless drill to carry out some work in the dive tank situated outside on the waterfront. The drill weighs around 3kg and has a wrist strap and lights for ease of use. The chuck is 13mm and has 16 torque settings on each setting. The drill is supplied with an 18V 3ah battery and replacement batteries can be purchased. Depending on the workload the battery life lasts for many hours and the recharging takes place in a matter of 30 minutes or so.
Not only was the product widely received in the market, the show recognised the innovative technology involved in the
underwater drill and awarded it a winner in the
Seawork International Innovation Awards. Paul Webb, Director at Fairlocks Pool Products Ltd collected the award on behalf of the team, and was proud of what the
award brought to the status of the Nemo drill in the industry.
“This show has been a great opportunity to showcase our underwater drill in a new industry and although swimming pools is our main business, the marine engineering trade can benefit from the innovative technology used in the Nemo. We have sold many drills at the show, based on the additional gravitas the award has brought us,” commented Paul. The show took place 16-18 June 2015 and rebooking has already started for next year, in the new venue at Mayflower Park, Southampton. Fairlocks, along with some new innovations from the Nemo range, will be attending in 2016. “On the basis of the
Selling The Dream – New Brochure Drives Pool Kit Sales
A new brochure from Golden Coast is helping installers across the country inspire homeowners looking to take the plunge into pool ownership this summer. An ever-rising interest in health and well-being, combined with more and more homeowners looking to invest in their homes, means the time has never been better to promote liner pool kits from Swimmer to your customers, according to Golden Coast. Golden Coast Managing Director Jamie Adams explains the thinking behind the new 12-page brochure. He said: “Owning a pool is an investment in your health, your family and your home, but, for many people it’s the fear of a long, expensive and complicated project which puts them off making the dream of ownership a reality.
“But the fact is, having your own pool has never been easier. It’s as affordable as another car, a loft conversion or a new kitchen… and this new customer-facing brochure explains how – whatever their requirements – Swimmer Pool Kits provide an easy-to- install and affordable customised pool which will provide years of enjoyment.”
Modular Swimmer Pool Kits contain everything necessary to create a ‘dream’ pool – including all the heating and water filtration equipment, fittings and pipework required. Developed with ease in mind, everything in the kit works together and, importantly, will arrive at the same time – avoiding delays during installation. Elegant engineering and advanced construction methods allow installers to create customised pools that are quick and easy to fit.

The pool itself, for example, is constructed from modular side panels that lock together quickly and are supported by X-frame buttresses. Installation is so easy that, within just the space of a few short hours, the actual walls of the pool can go up. Available in 24 different sizes,
ranging from 20’ x 10’ to 40’ x 20’, pool side walls are four-feet deep. However, the water depth can be increased by incorporating a hopper floor to produce an area of the pool deep enough for safe diving.
Pool liners can be chosen from a range of finishes, including classic mosaic, traditional marble or a modern monochromatic finish. A waterline border can be added as a distinctive touch. Recognising the value of the little details that make a pool truly exceptional, Swimmer Pool Kits from Golden Coast are available with a range of finishing touches, including LED lighting, counter- current systems, solar thermal panels and automatic pool cover systems from DEL. Designed to keep pools clean and safe, solar slat systems are available – keeping the water even warmer.
