We all know that using our phones whilst driving is wrong – as well as being illegal according to
n332.es, “It is considered to be a serious offence to use a mobile pone, browser or other communications device whilst driving, punishable with a 200 fine and the loss of 3 points”.
Many cars would benefit from a bluetooth system whereby your phone’s audio and some controls are ‘handed over’ to the car’s audio system. However, it turns out that this optional extra is often overlooked. So how do you get a ‘hands free’ system in your car. And just to be clear, using headphone/mic cables is also not allowed!
At Larry’s we get asked this a lot and for a while now, we’ve been installing Parrott Handsfree kit in our customer’s cars. Parrott is the leading maker of hands free kits so we’re happy to stock and install them. These range from very basic systems, to full on units which integrate phone, navigation, iPod, radio and CD. Some of them also have voice controlled activation making them totally hands free (if you’ve ever used Siri or “OK Google” you’ll know how this works).
Installing these kits can be a bit fiddly - and sometimes worse! It often requires those special little tools that are useful for one thing and one thing only. At Larry’s we have all these fiddly little tools, plus the know how to remove panels and existing audio systems, quickly and easily. We always take the trouble to make sure the small but important things are covered - such as making sure the microphone is in the centre of the car so that both driver and passenger can join in on a conversation.
Handsfree kits are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the so-called ‘after- market’ electronics. We also do full audio systems, from basics right up to custom installations, reversing and parking sensors (you don’t know how good they are until you’ve used them), alarms systems and a whole lot more.
