Going Out - Page 44 A different GASP
GASP (Gran Alacant Santa Pola Theatre Group) fresh from their last production are now busy rehearsing their next show which will be somewhat different to all that has gone before in their 6 years of presenting drama productions.
The group is truly international with members
from France, Spain, not to mention Great Britain, but has to date only presented productions in English. The next presentation will be presented in both English and Spanish and will be an evening of comedy sketches to be performed in the Casa de Cultura in Santa Pola on Friday 18th September. Details of ticketing will be available nearer the date. The Charity which GASP supports is the CRUZ ROJO. So mark the date in your diary and enjoy the experience of “sharpening up” all the Spanish you have learned and by doing so you will help the GASP to help the CRUZ ROJO. As always the group is on the look out for new members for both acting and back stage activities such as props, front of house, and all the other essential jobs that are needed to make a well run show. Xabia Book Circle Our next meeting will

Torrevieja Christian Fellowship
TCF is located on Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, 68, Torrevieja 03183, and holds its Weekly Service with Communion and Sunday School at 10.30am each Sunday. MABS Murcia Mar Menor Fashion Show Success
The
annual MABS Murcia Mar Menor Fashion Show was held last month at Las Claras Centre in Los Narejos, Los Alcazares and was once again a huge success. The atmosphere was tremendous with Wendy Grant playing saxaphone and acting as MC for the day while the models got ready. Zigi introduced the models and described the outfits they were wearing - all were available for sale at the event. A fantastic total of €1328.67 was raised. Evelyn Campbell who organised the event thanked everyone for attending and also thanked all the models and helpers for giving their valuable time freely to make the event so successful. Enjoying the fruits of the vine in Eden!
Following their huge success in April, the WAG were delighted to invite their members to come to (El) Edén to enjoy the wines of Simón de Monfort presented by Vicent Monfort Ferrer, who totally captivated our senses with an excellent selection of wines from Fontanars de Els Alforins, El Masroig and Capçanes. Over 80 of our members arrived full of expectation that this was going to be a very special evening and they were not disappointed. In fact many members expressed their view that it was the best evening they had experienced ever with U3A Oliva. The truly heavenly ambiance around the pool at Restaurante El Edén then began to pulsate with the swing and jazz music and angelic voices of the Encore Duo, which urged everyone to get up and boogie, which they did with great enjoyment and in great numbers. The ladies led the way, as we do, and before long the dance floor was heaving. The sight of so many people enjoying themselves, replete with excellent food, wine and good music was a delight to the organisers. Oh what a night, a night to be remembered! A very special thank you to Vicent Monfort Ferrer of Simón de Monfort, Vicente of restaurant El Edén, the Encore Duo and all the members for making this a truly wonderful evening.
