The English Choir invited to join Moors and Christians
The Moors and Christians Festival is a famous annual fiesta in Moraira. The English Choir felt privileged and honored to be invited to take part in the re –enactment of the Christians conquest over the Moors which took place on 13th June around Moraira’s Castle and Beach. Choir members said they had had a marvelous uninterrupted view of the pageant and got to wear beautifully embroidered Moorish kaftans whilst singing excerpts from ‘Les Miserables’ from the ramparts of the castle at the climax of the battle and the routing of the Moors. A wonderful end to the choir’s season and after a well earned break they
will return to rehearse for their autumn concert which is entitled ‘A Trans-Atlantic Conversation’ which contrasts popular British and American Musicals from the latter half of the 20th century until the present day. It takes place in November at Salon De Actors Teulada’s intimate theatre in the main square. Watch the press for further information or please phone Judith on 966 480 195 or email
