Female Focus Maria Soler has bags of style.

Our front cover this month is of Maria Soler posing with one of her handbags. We featured Maria and her handbag company and museum in last month’s magazine. Since then she has been delighted with the response from Female Focus readers, and the considerable interest shown by the ex-pat communities especially the British, which goes to show that her handbags are appealing to all nationalities and tastes.

One event where Maria recently showed her selection of bags was at the Javea Bridge Club Ladies Day. Female Focus went along, and we saw for ourselves the positive reaction to her products. The ladies present were obviously impressed, with one person purchasing handbags for herself, her daughters and her granddaughters.

Available in all sizes, and many designs, there is something to suit every age, and every taste. You can see the designs for yourself at the combined Museum and Shop in Gata de Gorgos. The Museum will take you through the history of the Soler family hat and bag business since 1880, the presentations are in English, and the experience will give a real flavour of traditional Spanish artisan expertise.

In the shop you will be able to see the extensive range of Maria Soler handbags, which although ‘designer’, start from as little as €25. Even though they start from this low price, the quality of the workmanship is evident from the moment you pick up a bag. These bags are designed to last, the insides are perfectly

sewn and finished off, the zips used are of good quality, and they can withstand daily use for many years.

The Museum and shop are open Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm and 3pm to 7.30pm and Saturday mornings 9am to 1pm. There is parking outside and an additional car park is signposted a short walk away.
